Genetic Nucleus / Multiplication Sow Farm Manager
*Location:* Edgerton, Missouri
We are seeking an experienced, motivated *Genetic Nucleus/Multiplication Sow Farm Manager* to oversee daily operations at our Edgerton, MO sow farm. This role is critical to maintaining elite genetic integrity, animal welfare, and production excellence. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with a strong background in sow farm management and a passion for genetics and team development.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee all daily operations of a genetic nucleus/multiplication sow farm
* Manage breeding, farrowing, gestation, and gilt development programs
* Ensure strict adherence to biosecurity, animal welfare, and genetic protocols
* Monitor herd health, production metrics, and performance goals
* Lead, train, and develop farm staff to ensure consistent, high-quality execution
* Work closely with veterinarians, nutritionists, and genetic partners
* Maintain accurate records and reports related to genetics, production, and compliance
* Implement continuous improvement strategies to enhance efficiency and results
Qualifications:
* Prior experience managing a sow farm; genetic nucleus or multiplication experience strongly preferred
* Strong understanding of sow productivity, genetics, and herd health
* Proven leadership and team management skills
* Detail-oriented with strong organizational and communication abilities
* Ability to follow and enforce strict protocols and standards
* Comfortable working in a hands-on farm environment
