The Pictsweet Company is growing!
We are currently looking for production associates to join our vegetable processing facility in Bells, TN.
These associates strive to produce quality branded products in a fast-paced, safe, and clean environment.

Summary of Essential Duties:

Duties include but are not limited to, the following.
  • Diagnose basic to highly complex mechanical problems. Operate, maintain and repair equipment in efficient and effective manner. Equipment assigned may include, but not be limited to the following:

Corn Harvester Conventional Grain Harvester
  • Perform routine maintenance on all equipment (lubrication, oil change, etc.)
  • Monitors field conditions and communicates same to farm management.
  • Diagnose and assist in the repair of minor mechanical problems such as belt slippage, flat tires, tracing electrical failures/shorts, rebuild hydraulic pumps, replacement of water pumps, thermostats, and other mechanical parts, etc.
  • Diagnose and repair moderately complex mechanical problems such as, tear-down and rebuilding of engines, replacement of electrical systems, replacement of hydraulic systems, and the diagnosis/repair of computer-aided mechanical operations.
  • Diagnose and repair highly complex mechanical problems such as: total rebuild of combines or harvesters, installation/programming of computer software, new wiring.
  • Identify potential problems (mechanical or field conditions) and react appropriately.

Experience:

  • Must have at least two (2) years general mechanical experience, preferably with farm-related mechanical maintenance of equipment.
  • Completion of appropriate vocational/agricultural technical school training may be substituted for years of experience.

Qualifications:Cognitive & Psychological

  • Demonstrate ability to read signs and basic instructions.
  • Demonstrate basic mathematical reasoning ability (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division).
  • Demonstrate an understanding of mechanical systems (pneumatic, hydraulic, engines, compressors, electrical) related to machine harvest. This knowledge is normally gained through a vocational/technical school, two years post high school.

Physical

  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. *
  • Successfully pass minimum 20/40 vision test.
  • May work in extreme weather conditions (heat, rain, humidity, dry, dust).
  • As determined by “fit for duty” assessment by medical professional.

Other

  • Must be willing to work extended hours as needed (including weekends and holidays).
  • Must be willing to travel for harvesting operations for 1 to 2 month intervals.
  • Bilingual, English/Spanish is a plus.
  • Must develop a thorough understanding of mechanical systems of equipment used by Machine Harvest.
