About 4,400 farms, each about 100 acres, produce a variety of crops in the Granite State. Both milk and greenhouse / nursery crops account for more than half of the state’s agricultural sales revenue. Livestock includes cattle, sheep, pigs and poultry. Hay is largely grown to support livestock.
Maple syrup production is also strong, with New Hampshire producing 4% of US maple syrup.
