What you will do:
The Activities Coordinator will support the psychosocial and developmental needs of children through the planning and execution of age-appropriate activities and events.

Responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities and events to meet the individual needs of each child.
Certification as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) to be completed within 90 days of hire date.
Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to identify and implement meaningful activities to further develop the psychosocial and physical needs of each child.
Accountable for the setup, breakdown, registration (if required), and hosting of all activities and events.
Responsible for organizing, cleaning, and putting away laundry based on the specific needs of the site.
Responsible for delegating duties during project times for RBTs which may include laundry and other household chores.
Update chore chart for kids and post new chore schedule for staff.
Order and organize all necessary supplies, toys, and materials as approved by the therapy director.
Maintain an inventory of all the toys ordered and kept at the farms and updates as needed.
Lead and supervise volunteers and staff to ensure a safe and developmentally appropriate environment to provide effective and enjoyable experiences for children and their families.
Update posted information and scheduling of activities and events to ensure timeliness in communication and planning.
Participate in scheduled meetings with the therapy director and farm technician to discuss event and activity planning, along with other specific duties and assignments.
Responsible for answering phones, greeting families, and other front office duties based on the specific needs of the site.
Assist with ABA schedule in absence of administrative coordinator and/or when directed by the therapy director.
Assist with group treatments and help supervise children during activities.
Build and maintain good working relationships with the community and works closely with community organizations who uphold the values of Pediatrics Plus and help empower children to conquer their world.
Develop seasonally appropriate activities that coincide with major holidays such as Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas.
Responsible for advertising and marketing events open to the community in a timely and effective manner.
Must be available to work some after hour events which may include weekends (farmers markets).

What you have:

Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with a wide variety of people.
Willing to work with children from birth to 21 and their families.
Basic computer skills which include a working knowledge of database, word processing, spreadsheets, and internet software.
Ability to handle multiple tasks in a very busy environment.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Positive attitude and high energy level to facilitate engagement during activities.

Minimum Requirements:

High School Diploma / GED
2 years of experience working with children and their families preferred.
Complete 40 hours of paid training by supervising BCBA- must be completed within 90 day period once hired
Pass the RBT competency assessment conducted by supervising BCBA
Pass the RBT exam through BACB to become a Registered Behavior Technician
Pass a criminal background check and drug screen

Annual Requirements:

Pass the RBT competency assessment conducted by supervising BCBA
Complete annual renewal through BACB
Receive ongoing supervision and comply with BACB’s ethics requirements

Physical Demands:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to talk or hear. The employee is regularly required to walk, sit, use hands and fingers to handle, lift, feel, and reach. The employee is frequently required to stand and stoop, twist, bend, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include near and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee is required to maintain regular and punctual attendance. The employee is required to complete tasks in a timely manner.
