ECODIT is seeking qualified candidates for the position of Activity Coordinator for the USAID Agriculture, Forestry and Other Land Use (AFOLU) Calculator Activity (the Activity). The Activity Coordinator will support the Chief of Paty (COP) for the Activity in overall contract performance and ensuring quality deliverables are submitted in a timely manner. The Activity Coordinator will also provide coordination and management support to other ECODIT projects and proposals.
ACTIVITY OVERVIEW
ECODIT is implementing the AFOLU Activity, which aims to develop a user-friendly, freely available, on-line tool to calculate Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions and carbon storage associated with AFOLU. The tool will be used to facilitate required reporting and monitoring through Agency approved portfolio management systems on standard USAID climate indicators, assist with activity planning, and align with the priorities of the USAID Climate Strategy. It also will facilitate reporting, monitoring, and analysis for users external to USAID. The intent of this tool is not for reporting against any carbon standards used to seek payments for carbon reduction results or for the sale of carbon offsets into the voluntary carbon market.
The Activity has the following three objectives:
Tool Development and Deployment
Tool Maintenance
Training and Capacity Building
The period of performance of the Activity is five (5) years, starting October 1, 2023. It is comprised of a two-year base period and three one-year option periods.
THE ACTIVITY COORDINATOR
As a Full Time employee of ECODIT, the Activity Coordinator will spend half of her/his time on the AFOLU Calculator Activity and the remaining half on other ECODIT projects and proposals.
Duties and Responsibilities as Activity Coordinator for the AFOLU Activity
The Activity Coordinator will support the COP for the Activity in overall contract performance and ensure quality deliverables are submitted in a timely manner. Under the overall supervision of the COP, the Activity Coordinator will support the COP in the following activities:
Schedule and organize meetings and events (workshops, webinars, trainings, user engagement coordination), monitor participation, summarize notes and action items, and follow up as necessary;
Conduct technical research and analyses related to existing GHG calculators, GHG calculation methodologies, and other topics as necessary to develop the tool;
Implement the Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) Plan and contribute to its preparation and updating;
Coordinate activities with ECODITs subcontractor for the Activity and mobilize and onboard subject-matter experts as short-term technical assistance (STTA) consultants;
Liaise with the Home Office (HO) Project Manager to ensure effective HO management support;
Convene internal Quarterly Progress Review (QPR) meetings with the COP and ECODITs executive leadership to review performance against deliverables and ensure quality control;
Maintain trackers of project progress against deliverables to ensure Activity milestones and deliverables are met; and
Provide other support as needed.
Duties and Responsibilities on Other ECODIT Projects and Proposals
Review, edit and provide feedback on reports and other deliverables;
Provide project/proposal administration and program management support, including organizing logistics, preparing and disseminating meeting notes, and developing information materials;
Maintain an organized electronic filing system of project/proposal documents and trackers;
Coordinate among team members to ensure tasks remain on schedule, keeping communication lines open, and ensuring they work well together;
Identify and help resolve administrative bottlenecks or compliance issues;
Track milestones and deliverables and ensure procedures and documents adhere to ECODITs and the Clients overall and project-specific requirements and guidelines;
Review invoices for accuracy and completeness and submit to the finance department; and
Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Masters degree in business analytics, monitoring and evaluation, data science, statistics, mathematics, GHG accounting, or any other related field. A bachelors degree with three years of additional relevant work experience can be substituted for a masters degree;
At least 2 years of experience in developing/using data science tools;
Previous experience providing project coordination support for international development projects highly desirable;
Skilled in MS office suite of products and other project management / tracking software;
Proven interpersonal, communication, and teamwork skills; and
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
