Job Description

The position of Crop Advisor is of great significance to Valley Agronomics. A person in this position is responsible for attracting new customers while also developing and supporting relationships with the location. customer base.

You will be responsible for developing long-term relationships with identified customers and working face to face with crop producers on the farm.

Job Summary:

These are the basic requirements of the position and must be performed competently.

  • Promotes and coordinates the sales of fertilizer, crop nutrition products, crop protection products, seed, seed traits and seed treatments to maximize yield.
  • Implements marketing and sales plans; establish and meet sales goals; and network with industry representatives to expand sales opportunities.
  • Examines fields for yield, quality, adaptation to specific soils or climates, and resistance to diseases and pests.
  • Help growers discover best methods of planting, cultivation, harvesting, and effects of various climatic conditions on crops.
  • Scouts’ fields and develop methods for control of noxious weeds, crop diseases, and insect pests. Strictly follow all company policies which include safety and regulatory.
  • Monitor competitive products and marketing activities.
  • Communicate information regarding products and services with customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB QUALIFICATIONS/PREREQUISITES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Ag Business or other Ag related degree preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of agronomy operations experience with the understanding of seed and crop production practices preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years agronomy experience.
  • Must have strong technical knowledge of fertilizer, chemical and seed products.
  • Certified Crop Advisor, Certified Professional Agronomist or equivalent experience.
  • Must have strong communication skills; ability to communicate in appropriate, professional manner with managers, supervisors, employees, customers, vendors and general public.
  • Must maintain appropriate and expected levels of customer service. 8.Must have strong relationship building skills.
