Position Title: Agricultural Foreman
Reports to: Farm Manager
Company: Canal Ranch Farms
Classification: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Pay: $55,000-65,000
Canal Ranch Farms is seeking an Agricultural Foreman. The property includes approximately 1,100 acres of high-density olives.
Position Summary: Under general supervision, the Agricultural Foreman is responsible for overseeing and participating in various tasks related to olive orchard management, including tree planting, pruning, and monitoring overall tree health. This role ensures the effective coordination of daily farm operations, maintains equipment, and promotes safety procedures.
This position will be primarily responsible for:
• Collecting and maintaining data on olive field conditions to support decision-making by the Farm Manager.
• Monitor and report on the health of olive fields throughout the year.
• Assist in research activities by following established protocols and maintaining clear communication with the Farm Manager and Technical Support Team.
• Coordinate daily operations such as irrigation, fertilizer application, spraying, and pruning.
• Collaborate with team members to facilitate planting, harvesting, and other olive crop operations.
• Assign and supervise daily work schedules for farm employees.
• Operate farm equipment (tractors, sprayers, shredders, etc.) to support crop production.
• Ensure all equipment and facilities are maintained in optimal working conditions.
• Assist with coordinating maintenance schedules and repairs to ensure the safety and efficiency of farm equipment.
• Manage the purchasing of supplies and equipment as needed.
• Uphold farm safety procedures, including maintaining pesticide storage and ensuring the proper use of personal protective equipment by all workers.
Candidate Requirements:
• Bilingual-English/Spanish.
• Must have work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must pass a preemployment background and drug screening for employment.
• Must provide a clean DMV record for driving.
Candidate Preferences:
• Knowledge of Farm Operations or Farm Machinery.
• Have worked in an outdoor environment.
• Previous experience with a Commercial Farm or Ag Service Company.
• Preferably a candidate who plans to reside in the San Joaquin County.
Physical Requirements: Some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 50% or more sitting, 25% or less walking, and 25% or more standing. The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and primarily in an outdoor environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift to 50 lbs. is required. Must be able to drive a Company vehicle for mobility throughout the farm.
Other Requirements: This is a full-time role which requires you to work six days a week.
