Job Description
The Agriculture Instructor is responsible for the delivery of quality education that adheres to required curriculum standards. Students will participate in the career-technical student organization FFA and FFA Supervised Agricultural Experience programs are embedded in the curriculum.
POSITION Agriculture Instructor
LOCATION Ross High School
2023 – 2024 courses include:
- Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources,
- Business Management for Agricultural and Environmental Systems,
- Animal & Plant Science, and
- Mechanical Principles (w/ Welding emphasis)
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of one year related agriculture industry employment;
- Appropriate licensure/certification through the Ohio Department of Education (ODE) or ability to obtain proper licensure. Applicants must meet ONE OF THE FOLLOWING requirements to be considered for this position:
- VO/CT Agriscience (010100)
- VO/CT Production Agriculture (010104)
- VO/CT/CW Agribusiness (010200)
- Willingness/ability to work with students, teachers and administrators as a team member;
- Computer expertise appropriate to the position;
- Effective and demonstrated problem solving, critical thinking, analytical, oral and written communication, and organizational skills;
- Valid drivers’ license, reliable transportation, and vehicle insurance;
- History of strong work record, including good job attendance; and
- Documented evidence of acceptable criminal record as required by Ohio law and Board Policy.
STARTING DATE August 2023
SALARY Based upon experience and education ($48,456 – 101,079)
BENEFITS Includes medical, dental, vision, and life insurance; tuition reimbursement
WORK YEAR 185 days – 7.5 hours/day
