Agriculture: Part Time Dual Credit Out of Service Area Faculty Liaison in Marion, IN

GENERAL DESCRIPTION: Dual credit out of service area (OSA) faculty liaison positions are temporary, Part Time positions hired each semester on an as-needed basis to support dual credit instructors. The dual credit OSA faculty liaison member will be responsible for working with high school teachers who teach dual credit Agriculture classes to creating a learning environment that assists students in reaching their goals; dual credit OSA faculty liaison will assist Program Chair with syllabi review, the onboarding of dual credit instructors instructing new dual credit courses and completing site visits with dual credit instructors.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: Dual credit faculty liaison will complete new instructor onboarding, conduct in-person and/or virtual site visits, and review syllabi from dual credit instructors appropriate to course(s) being taught to high school students and ensures the instructor follows content and requirements of Ivy Tech Agriculture courses.

ONBOARDING: Responsible for contacting each assigned dual credit instructor and onboarding them for each new Ivy Tech Agriculture dual credit course they are teaching for the upcoming school year using the ITCC Onboarding checklist provided. Dual credit faculty liaison will discuss ITCC Agriculture Program expectations for each course with each instructor assigned and complete documentation as required. Use technology such as Zoom, Canvas, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate. Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views.
SYLLABUS REVIEW: Review and approve syllabi and other submitted material from dual credit instructors, including samples of student work, lesson plans and sample of quizzes and tests, for the upcoming term.
SITE VISITS: May also assist with site visits/classroom evaluation of dual credit instructors throughout the school year.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: A qualified faculty member in Agriculture meets the School of Advanced Manufacturing, Engineering and Applied Science as outlined in ASOM 7.1:

A qualified faculty member in Agriculture meets the School of Technology criteria:

Possesses an earned baccalaureate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution, in the fields of Agricultural and Biological Engineering, Agriculture Education, Agricultural Economics, Agricultural Systems Management, Agronomy, Animal Science, Botany, Horticulture, or Plant Science; or
Possesses a current Workplace Specialist License granted by the Indiana Department of Education appropriate to course objectives and directly linked to credentials, certifications, and competencies listed in the Course Outline of Record (COR), or
Possesses an earned associate or higher degree, from a regionally accredited institution directly related to the program’s discipline, and has two years of directly related work experience.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Preference will be given to candidates who have experience in college or high school classrooms instructing Ivy Tech Agriculture dual credit courses.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS: Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check, and any offer of employment will be contingent upon that outcome. Copies of transcripts may be required at time of interview. Original hard copies of transcripts will be required at time of hire.

WORK HOURS: Approximately 3 hours a week over a 16-week semester.

HIRING RANGE: $25 per hour
