Job Description:
A Temporary Research Worker position provides support to the day-to-day activities of a field research program. The Temporary Research Worker will be expected to participate in all aspects of the program’s activities depending on the season of work. Hours may vary with workdays occasionally lasting more than 8 hours.
Duties/Responsibilities (may include any or all of the following):

Receiving and sorting incoming seed
Hand or machine counting seed by experiment prior to planting
Sorting seed packets for planting and for shipping
Hand harvesting crops
Shelling/Threshing crops
Conditioning seed
Applying seed treatment (Applicator license required)
General housekeeping

Competencies:

Need to be able and willing to speak, read, and understand English and numbers
Need to be able and willing to lift 40 lb
Need to be able and willing to stand for at least 4 hours
Need to be able and willing to sit for at least 4 hours
Need to be able and willing to walk on uneven ground
Need to be able and willing to work in a dusty environment
Need to be able and willing to work outdoors regardless of weather

A Temporary Research Worker shall:

Demonstrate the willingness to embrace a safe work culture
Comply with all site-specific safety requirements and trainings
Be detail-oriented with ability to work successfully in a team
Be self-motivated and possess a positive attitude
Be willing to work indoors and/or outdoors

Job Types: Contract, Full-time
Salary: $15.50 per hour
Work Location: In person
