Agronomist in Hillsboro, KS

Cooperative Grain and Supply, located in Hillsboro KS is looking for an Agronomist. The position assists farmers with crop production decisions that best fit their operation and goals by creating timely recommendations for fertilizer, seed, and ag chemicals that bring a sound return on investment and works closely with our team to ensure a high level of service for the benefit of our customers.

As an Agronomist, primary responsibilities include:

• Responsible for all daily agronomy sales including effectively supporting the agronomy manager; sales of fertilizer, chemicals, and seed; inventory; coordinating application of chemicals and fertilizer; consulting with producers and making recommendations; and maintaining test plots
• Establishes and maintains excellent rapport with customers
• Serves customers by promptly responding to customer inquiries, questions, and/or complaints in a prompt, respectful, and professional manner
• Responsible for being knowledgeable of all products and services and exhibits ability to demonstrate to customers their uses
• Manages agronomy production and quality control standards; and obtains data regarding types, quantities, specifications, and delivery dates of products ordered
• Works cooperatively with division managers to help ensure company goals are met by effectively communicating by verbal and written means with customers, employees, and management.

A successful Agronomist will enjoy serving people and building relationships within the CGS team and our community of patrons. Individual should have a Valid Driver’s License and 1A Custom Applicator License. A bachelor’s degree (B. A. or B.S.) from four-year college or university; minimum of three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $70,000.00 per year
