Description:
To actively maintain current and attain new clients while providing reliable agronomic solutions. This position combines knowledge of agronomy, sales, and customer relationship management to provide valuable insights to farmer clients. Must be a self-motivated individual that thrives on his/her reputation as a leader in the field. This position will not only be heavily involved in sales, but also customer relations, field observation, technology, and agronomic diagnosis for your clients as well as aiding other Sales Agronomists on your team. Requirements:
Key Responsibilities
Agronomic Expertise: In-depth knowledge of soil science, plant biology and crop management to provide technical advice to farmers. Recommend suitable crop nutrients, varieties/hybrids, pest and disease control strategies and more.
Sales and Business Development: Develop strategies to meet or exceed sales goals while collaborating with your Sales team to contribute to CFEs revenue growth.
Data collection and Analysis: Gather data including soil samples, crop health assessments, herbicide and pest activity, and yield data. Analyze the data to make informed recommendations to improve crop productivity.
Relationship Building: This individual must build quality relationships with the farmer clients and should be seen as the Sales with Service Leader in the field.
Travel: Frequent travel to rural areas and farms.
Reporting
Inform your supervisor of discrepancies in your reports as soon as you are aware of them
Inform your supervisor of potential problems or potential new business opportunities directly or indirectly related to your department
Report any unsafe equipment or working conditions to your supervisor
Report any needed repairs or special maintenance to your supervisor immediately
Safety and Compliance
Uphold cooperative policies
Follow and comply with all laws and regulations both State and Federal
Attend employee safety meetings, etc. held as required or scheduled in conjunction with Safety Director or location
Other Duties
Perform other duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Agricultural Science or in a related field
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple projects at a time and demonstrate good attention to detail
Strong agronomic knowledge of agronomic principles and practical application
Valid Drivers License, Class B CDL and Commercial Applicators license or ability to obtain when required
Proven track record of the ability to organize and carry out sales plans and strategies by performing one-on-one successful selling techniques with agricultural crop producers
Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons and at times be available nights and weekends.
