Job Overview:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and motivated Agronomist to join our team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in agricultural science and be passionate about improving crop production and sustainability. This role involves conducting research, analyzing data, and applying scientific principles to enhance agricultural practices. The Agronomist will work collaboratively with farmers and Warner’s Sales team to develop innovative solutions for crop management.
Duties:
- Conduct field trials and experiments to evaluate crop performance and soil health.
- Utilize GIS technology to map and analyze agricultural data for informed decision-making.
- Perform biochemical analyses in the laboratory to assess soil and plant health.
- Implement machine learning techniques to predict crop yields and optimize farming practices.
- Accurately fulfills orders, generates quotes, ensures follow up with customers, and completes all orders to customer satisfaction.
- Works as part of a team to manage, support, and grow the WF account base.
- Helps with or directly grows the team account base by soliciting new accounts to serve and asks for referrals.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to address agricultural challenges and promote sustainable practices.
- Prepare reports and presentations summarizing research findings.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Science, or a related field preferred. A combination of training and experience may be considered in lieu of completed degree.
- Experience:3-5 years of Agronomic sales experience preferred
- Valid driver’s license required; CDL in application spreading may be required.
- Experience with field scouting in making sound agronomic recommendations.
- Proven experience in research methodologies and data analysis skills.
- Experience with laboratory techniques related to soil and plant analysis.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration with diverse teams.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and a passion for advancing agricultural science.
- Knowledge of Crop Precision Ag programs (GPS, gridding, mapping, precision crop plans)
- Able to sell the complete line of fertilizer, seed and chemicals.
- Able to develop sales strategies and techniques to increase sales and meet sales goals.
- Able to learn and present programs to Growers/Producers in group or individual settings.
- Effective communication, organizational and presentation skills.
- PC proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Able to work extended hours to meet business demands.
Job Type: Full-time
