Summary:
This position will oversee daily operations of the Agronomy facilities in Dimock. This position will ensure compliance with company operations policies as well as company established safety and health standards.
Essential Responsibilities and Duties:
· Work with location manager to ensure sufficient staffing during spring and application season.
· Oversee general operations and agronomy production services at Dimock.
· Manage outside agronomy staff and assist with annual performance reviews.
· Direct production staff to promote operational efficiency while building an enjoyable work environment.
· Do daily work schedules for employees in writing and verbally for the day and lay out the plan for the week.
· Set time that they are expected to do certain jobs, follow up and make sure jobs are done right. Application, Shop work, and so on.
· Make sure each employee is properly trained for the type of work they are doing.
· Make sure all equipment and delivery equipment is ready for each season.
· Update employees with daily job changes.
· Every morning have daily meeting and tool box talks; get everybody up to speed what’s going on in the company and your department.
· Keep maintenance records on equipment, a file on every piece of equipment.
· Keep equipment clean. (Pickups, terra-gators washed and waxed also keep cabs free of garbage.)
· Clean shop daily, put tools away, and keeps all floors clean.
· Do monthly inventories, weekly during busy season, rotate inventories, and also keep inventories piled neat and orderly, work with office staff to make sure inventories balance.
· Talk to sales people for scheduling farm orders for what load need to be done.
· Hire seasonal help and make sure everybody is properly licensed.
· Work with location manager to determine Agronomy equipment needed for the following year.
· Work with outside locations for sharing equipment and people.
· Work with Grain Department on sharing people and equipment.
· Go through Agronomy bills with location manager monthly.
· Keep parts inventory in shop fully supplied.
· Make sure all drivers are properly licensed.
· All bulk products must be labeled properly.
· All mine-bulk must be EPA compliant when they leave CFC.
· Keep all outside areas looking good, free of garbage and grass mowed.
· Must be a leader in safety and company rules, no exception, also need to dress neat and have collar shirt and boots with steel toes.
· Participate with HSR on monthly inspections. Make sure all citations are fixed in 7 days.
· Work with mechanic for scheduling equipment for service.
· Maintain Preventative Maintenance system.
· Make sure all products have delivery ticket made before loading product.
· Make sure all paper work is office daily from delivery tickets and application paper work.
· All other duties assigned.
Qualifications:
· 2 yearsexperience in the grain and agronomy industry. Feed and Energy would also be beneficial.
· Minimum of 2 years experience as an applicator
· Must be able to work weekends and evenings as needed
· Basic understanding of Balance Sheet and Income Statement
· Expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software. e.g., Microsoft Office, Excel, Word and Outlook
· Carry a valid Drivers License and have ability to get a CDL
· Strong verbal and written communication skills
Able to legally work in the United States
Physical Demands:
· Must be able to regularly lift up to 50#
· Must be able to climb ladders and work at elevations of 200 ft.
· Must be able to work in dirty, dusty environment
· Must be able to work in all outside weather conditions
· Must be able to work in high noise environments
