Job Description

This is a Permanent, Full Time farm hand position available at a NW Multnomah County but near Washington County, Portland area Alpaca farm. We currently have one shift available:

1) This shift is Tuesday-Saturday and is a 40hrs/week shift!

We request that you only apply if you’re able to commit a minimum of one year to this job.

Persons applying for this job must have at least one year of experience working or being with animals, Livestock, preferably with Camelids or other animals, and enjoy working outside. We would prefer an individual that has had some experience with camelids, or has shown animals.

This employee needs to be observant, self-motivated and feel comfortable interacting with customers. Starting salary will DOE; actual starting salary will be based on how much relevant alpaca livestock experience the applicant has. Also know we do give raises once someone has done a good job here! Applicants must be fluent in English and have their own reliable transportation to and from the farm. Our farm is not serviced by Tri-Met. Also, this is a non-smoking workplace.

We do offer benefits once you have completed a 6 month probationary period. They include 6 paid holidays, and 2 weeks paid vacation/year, plus a $100 medical bonus per monthy. You need to work the 40 hrs/ week to qualify for the benefits. If you have a few weeks you only worked 38hrs/week you would still qualify. If you use your vacation days, they also qualify towards your 40hrs/week!

We have limited our visits to the farm, only people interested in purchasing animals or alpaca products will be allowed to visit. Unless they are a personal friend!
