Assistant Barn Manager in Ipswich, MA

Will report to and interface with Manager and Owner

GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

• Located on 14 acres in Ipswich, Massachusetts. Horsemanship skills and experience a must. • The care and management of 18 horses in a state of the art facility including maintenance of indoor and outdoor arenas. Paddock, pasture and fencing maintenance. • Tractor, mower, and ring grooming equipment experience • Must speak english, have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation • Part time position Monday-Thursday 12:00- 4:30 PM Starting December 1st : Fridays and Saturdays 7:00-4:30.

SKILLS REQUIRED: • Excellent horsemanship skills • Ability to interface with horse owners and staff appropriately. • Experience in a boarding facility or training stable. Ability to recognize and respond appropriately to illness or injury. • Administering medications, bandaging, wrapping, grooming, • Holding horses for Vets and Farriers HORSE CARE: • Feeding, hay, grain, supplements, medications • Turnout, hand walking if necessary, • Well being checks daily • Appropriate blanket changes, • Ordering of feed. FACILITY CARE: • General upkeep and cleanliness of entire facility. • Management of stall maintenance, light mucking and part time barn workers • Pasture and paddock management including rotation and resting schedules • Grooming of indoor and outdoor arenas • References required Contact Linda Gosselin via text message at 508-843-2052 or email legosselin1@verizon.net or through this site.
