Assistant Dairy Farm Manager in Mc Cook, NE 69001

Job Description

Duties:

– Oversee all aspects of dairy operations, including milking, feeding, and herd management
– Ensure the health and well-being of the dairy herd
– Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in the dairy facility
– Monitor milk production and quality
– Operate and maintain milking equipment and machinery
– Perform routine maintenance and repairs on equipment as needed
– Manage inventory of feed, supplies, and equipment
– Coordinate with veterinarians for herd health management
– Implement and enforce safety protocols for employees

Skills:

– Mechanical knowledge for operating and maintaining dairy equipment
– Ability to perform heavy lifting and manual labor
– Proficiency in using hand tools and power tools
– Knowledge of basic math for feed calculations and record keeping
– Experience with greenhouse or garden management is a plus
– Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is a plus
