As the Assistant Equine Manager, you will play a vital role in working with our Equine Manager to oversee the equine operations, livestock care, administrative tasks, and online presence of our ranch. Reporting to our Equine Manager, you’ll ensure the well-being of our animals, maintain a safe environment, and support the efficient functioning of our facilities.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Barn and Equine Care:

Supervise equine staff alongside the Equine Manager.
Oversee blanketing schedules and health monitoring.
Collaborate with Equine Manager to create barn schedule.
Maintain a clean, secure, and efficient barn environment.
Assist with grooming and barn duties as needed.
Administer IM, SubQ, and IV shots.
Contribute to horse rehabilitation efforts when necessary.

Farm and Livestock Care:

Assist in administering medications, vaccinations, or insecticides.
Manage livestock, including cattle, pigs, sheep and goat herds, including pasture movement.

Administrative and Office Tasks:

Maintain livestock database and essential records.
Perform clerical tasks, including filing, mail organization, and supply orders.
Complete breeding, registration, and entry forms as required.
Organize broodmare and foal spreadsheets.
Oversee Barn Manager and Basecamp programs.
Assist with website maintenance for horse sales and social media updates.
Assist with recruiting for Equine Barn.

Qualifications/Requirements:

4-5 years of experience with performance and young horses.
Proficiency in basic veterinary care and safe practices with horses and livestock.
Familiarity with hunter/jumper, 3-day eventing horse show schedules and processes.
Livestock and pasture experience (Holistic Management knowledge preferred).
Ability to observe animal appearance and behavior and communicate findings.
Proof of authorization to work in the United States, minimum age of 18, and clear background check.
Excellent communication skills and team-oriented.
Self-motivated, effective in minimal supervision.
Adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and adaptability to dynamic workday changes.
Strong physical fitness to work outdoors in changing conditions, including the capability to lift up to 100 lbs., operate an ATV, and utilize hand tools effectively.
