Title: Assistant Farm Manager
Status: Regular, Full-Time, Exempt
Hours: Average 55-60 hours per week (Includes weekends)

While we’ve grown over the last 30+ years to farm nearly 3000 acres in FL, GA and PA our dream hasn’t changed. We continue to focus on growing high quality, nourishing food with respect for the land and our people.
We are seeking a full-time, experienced food and farming professional to fill the role as Assistant Farm Manager. This individual will serve as a key support person in a multi faceted role focused on 1) daily field operations 2) data collection and analysis 3) production efficiency and improvement. This role requires advanced aptitude in both technical and personnel management. We are seeking a candidate who has 5+ years in vegetable production, and is eager to learn, and work collaboratively across departments to continually improve our farming systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The anticipated division tasks for this position is detailed in the following sections, they include but are not limited to:
- Supervise and train field crew on day-to-day processes and procedures through hands-on training methods
- Continuous Improvement: Design and implement experimental plots trials to test and track new production methodologies, with the goal of increasing overall productivity and product output and Study industry standards and benchmarks to inform production best practices and productivity goals. Collect data and information needed for reporting and make sure it is submitted timely and accurately
- Implementation and Execution of Farm Input and Labor Management Software for example: www.agsquared.com or www.pet-tiger.com/
- Use Excel to record and analyze field data that can be used for real time and future decision making
- Collaborate in communication and relationship management between field crews, vendors, and other production partners
- Follow all rules, guidelines, and SOPs to ensure compliance with regulations, adherence to food safety standards, and to maintain a safe work environment
- Assist in scheduling and supervision of field crew and act as a direct supervisor when farm manager is not present
- Assist in repair, maintenance, and organization of all farm tools and equipment
Qualifications
- 5+ years experience in vegetable production
- Bilingual (English/Spanish), Mandatory
- Management experience,capable of leading a team
- Experience using Farm Software Tool.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel spreadsheets
- Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or other applicable field (preferred but not required). Experience could supersede degree
- Experience driving and operating farm machinery and equipment
- Comprehensive understanding and food safety related to vegetable production and packing
- Experience with migrant community and H2A program
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Detail oriented with experience in record keeping and strong organizational skills
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment, prioritize tasks, and manage time effectively
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record for company insurance carrier
Reporting Relationship
Reports directly to the Vice President and coordinates daily with;
- Farm managers and pack house managers
- General manager
Compensation
$ 65,000 annually, Full-time salaried or hourly employee with compensation commensurate with experience. Benefits include: paid time off, company truck and bonus potential.
Typical Working Conditions
Based in Punta Gorda, FL with frequent travel required for at least half of the year. Must be willing to spend up to 3 months at a time in Georgia and Pennsylvania. Must be comfortable with exposure to a variety of climates and agricultural environments.
