Assistant Farm Manager/Caretaker
Qualifications:
? Experience relevant to Agriculture, Farm management, or Veterinary practice
? Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record
? Excellent communication skills

? Tractor or machinery knowledge required
? Plumbing, carpentry, and mechanical skills required
? Ability to work effectively with minimal supervision based on planning meetings, schedules, and priority lists
? Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly required
Responsibilities
? Responsible for effectively implementing, documenting, and improving programs such as animal care, fertilizer programs, and pest control programs.
? Keep accurate and organized farm records
? Ensure that farm-working environment is safe and that correct safety equipment is used
? Maintenance and upkeep of facilities and grounds, including maintaining electric fencelines, repairing fences, weed eating, mowing, other general maintenance and repair
? Report all issues to supervisor immediately.
? Daily animal care involved in all aspects of livestock farm management, including chores (egg collection, feeding, giving water, vaccinations, worming)
? General property management for rental home on property, including communication with tenants and scheduling services
? Trail clearing and maintenance.
? Home landscape maintenance
Compensation and Hours
? Fulltime/Salaried position
? $33,000-$45,000 (based on skills and experience)
? On site housing required, utilities included (trial period prior to occupancy, if local) 3/2
? Daily chores/duties
? Occasional local market attendance/Some flexibility on evenings or early mornings

Job Description:
Full time position to help achieve the goals of the farm by working in close collaboration with the Owners. The owners do not live on property and expect the caretaker to help with and manage and communicate all aspects of the farm while the owners are away. The position requires the applicant to live on site (housing and utilities included). General responsibilities include farm maintenance, livestock care and maintenance, receiving packages, and assisting with property management. The owner is looking to employ a long term position with someone that loves the environment and animals and is willing to work hard to ensure that the farm is maintained to the highest level.

Pay: $33,000.00 – $45,000.00 per year
