Job Description
We are located in Hurdle Mills, NC, 30 minutes from Durham and Chapel Hill, 45 minutes from Raleigh and Greensboro. We grow flavor driven, certified organic produce with intentionality. Our production emphasis is on soil-grown tomatoes, cucumbers, salad greens, microgreens, culinary herbs, and other specialty items in our fields and two acres of greenhouses. We sell year-round to local grocery stores, home delivery services, institutions, restaurants, and the Durham Farmers’ Market.
We are fortunate to have a rapidly expanding business and to be able to offer this assistant grower position to someone looking for a career in agriculture and a hand in developing a successful alternative model. Cutting edge growing techniques, appropriate technology, and organization are cornerstones of the farm. The assistant grower will learn our production management methods and work as part of a team of growers to facilitate consistent and high yields of top-quality produce.
Roles & Responsibilities Include:
Irrigation planning and monitoring
Fertility management
Integrated pest management (IPM) coordination
Environmental controls
Crop care (pruning, trellising, weeding)
Production data capture and analysis
Organic and GAP certification record keeping
Assist in all other aspects of farm
Schedule requires regular weekend work
Primarily reports to Grower

The ability to work with team members to ensure coverage around planned or unplanned absences.
Proficient with computers, comfortable with technology, efficient user of Google Sheets and Excel.
Spanish language skills preferred, but not required.
Education & Experience: A minimum of an associate’s degree in agriculture related field or 1 year of work on farms or in nurseries. More experience is welcomed and greater opportunities and compensation available accordingly.
Housing: No housing offered. Individual must live within commuting distance of the farm.
