Daily hands-on work as determined by Vegetable Farmer to maximize production of vegetables provided to the Agency. The central focus of this position is to assist in all aspects of vegetable production including: outside seasonal field production, year-round high tunnel production, year-round heated greenhouse production (transplants as well as salad crops and herbs), and post-harvest processing and distribution to all end users.
Management of all aspects of the Center’s CSA program, from preparation and organization of the annual prospectus, to managing the subscription and payment process, to organizing and running the weekly CSA pickups.
Assist in the management of post-harvest handling of the vegetable crops. This is an important area requiring quality control and organizational skills, and also includes organizing all vegetables for delivery to the Agency.
Work as a member of the farm team in whatever capacity is deemed most urgent at the time.
This will include working in the fields as labor as needed. Participates as a collaborative team member in all farm meetings. On occasion, circumstances may require the position to temporarily assist in animal production.
