We are a 15 stall hunter/jumper training and show barn. Applicant must have farm work/horse experience as job will entail comprehensive equine care and management. Strong communication skills and a good attitude are mandatory.Typical week is 5-6 days with an average of 40-50 hours per week. Open to conversation about days and hours. Please be sure you understand that this job includes ALL basic horse care and you will be cleaning some stalls as well as handling more sophisticated management tasks.
Responsibilities include:
Assess individual needs of each horse and manage health and nutritional needs
Provide light medical care as needed
Perform general barn chores: feeding, watering, turning out/in, mucking stalls, and cleaning paddocks.
Manage facility including maintaining indoor arena, setting jump courses, maintaining outdoor jump field, light cleaning
Coordinate maintenance of farm equipment
Communicate with boarders, vets, farriers, feed supplier, etc. as needed.
Manage and direct 2-3 farm employees.
Be on site for vet, chiropractic, massage, farrier appointments
Attend shows if necessary
