Job Description
We are looking for a breeding/foaling assistant from February 1st through July 1st. Even though we are looking to fill a temporary position right now, it could lead to a permanent position. Westwin Farms is a large breeding facility that foals out over 100 mares a year.
We are looking for somebody that is interested in learning all the aspects our breeding facility has to offer. The farm stands 7 stallions if you are interested in learning the collection and insemination process.
Daily work would include handling and medicating newborn foals and mares, working alongside the vet in the breeding shed, handling mares in the stocks for palpations and many more opportunities. Foal watch is expected one to two nights a week and you will get to be involved in the foaling out process. Training will be provided but we require you to have horse handling experience. Housing is provided on-site which includes a brand-new studio apartment with all utilities paid for and a bi-weekly salary.
