Job Description

Private dressage barn now hiring an entry level groom/ farm hand. We work as a team to care for six upper level dressage horses and fulfil the vision of the owner/rider. The ideal candidate has experience caring for horses. Candidate must be a team player, teachable, punctual, have their own transportation, and be a US citizen, or hold a valid work Visa.

All aspects of working with high end show horses are required, including special treatments; such as Bemer mat, Vitafloor, use of homeopathics, etc. In addition, team members are expected to perform tasks including but not limited to turnout, feeding, tack cleaning, barn laundry, packing and unpacking for shows, stall cleaning, picking fields, scrubbing water buckets stacking bales of hay and anything else needed.

Required skills:

· Punctual

· Following detailed directions

· Safe horse handling

· Keeping barn organized and clean

The candidate will receive a generous salary, 1 hour for lunch, and maximum 8 hour shifts, (except for show days), shared housing might be possible. This is not a riding position and we cannot accommodate boarding of employee’s horses. However, there are many boarding facilities in the area should the candidate want to bring a horse.

Job Type: Full Time

Pay: $30,000.00 – $35,000.00 per year
