Welcome to America’s Grow-a-Row! We are a hunger relief nonprofit and 100% of what we grow is donated to food banks, food pantries, and soup kitchens in New Jersey and 14 other states. We own approximately 425 acres on 4 properties in Hunterdon County, NJ. We grow around 20 varieties of produce including zucchini, cucumbers, eggplant, peppers, hot peppers, tomatoes, corn, peaches, plums, etc.
We are looking for an experienced Farm Equipment Operatorto join our team in Pittstown, New Jersey. In this role your main responsibilities will be on fruit and vegetable production.
We offera competitive salary based on experience ($65,000 – $75,000), health, dental, and vision insurance, paid vacation, paid personal days, paid holidays, bonuses, 401K plan, and a phone data plan.

Responsibilities:
Main emphasis on Fruit and Vegetable production including:
Field preparation.
Plastic laying for vegetable production.
Planting of vegetable plugs and seeds.
Seeding cover crops.
Pruning and maintenance of 10 acres of apples and peaches.
Irrigation/fertigation (once license is secured).
Pesticide application (once license is secured).
Operate/maintain equipment.

Secondary responsibilities including:
Trellis maintenance.
Assist with post-harvest and field cleanup.
Assist in various aspects of setting up volunteer group plantings and harvests.
Keep neat/clean operation.
Completion of tasks/projects that have been implemented/begun.
Handle additional farm projects as needed.

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate brings 3 years of farming, agriculture, and equipment operating experience.
Must have or willingness to obtain New Jersey Pesticide Application License.
Highly motivated individual who can work independently and in a team setting.
Ability to provide project and/or task supervision.
