Farm Field & Produce Crew in Peconic, NY

Indian Neck Farm is a 148-acre working farm on the North Fork of Long Island. Home to Indian Neck Organics, we grow and distribute a unique and limited variety of certified organic specialty vegetables.

Join us! We are looking for motivated individuals to work in our Fields, Garden & Packing House, planting, maintaining, & fulfilling produce orders for distribution to our Community.

We are building a team who can commit to the 2022-2023 winter season with the opportunity to continue into Spring and Summer months.

Must possess grit and a dedication to learning about the dynamic practices of growing organic food.

Role: Farm Field & Produce Crew

Full or Part-time available

Main Tasks & Expectations

• Maintain fields & harvest organic produce in Fields & Gardens
• Preparing land for winter season
• Wash, sort, and pack produce (indoors) in preparation for distribution to our Community
• Maintain cleanliness and quality of tools, equipment, and Produce Barn facilities
• Light carpentry work

Experience & Qualifications

• Prior experience is welcomed, however we can train if you have interest in this role without prior Farming experience
• Dedication to daily tasks in all weather conditions
• Positive attitude & interest in learning about organic farming
• Ability to stand & kneel for long periods
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. consistently

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Peconic, NY 11958: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

• Farming: 1 year (Preferred)
