Seasonal Farm Hand in Albuquerque, NM
Job Description
Job Description
Horses Unlimited is a warm blood breeding farm located in the South Valley of Albuquerque, New Mexico. The farm is 50 acres with an 18 stall barn that is currently not in use.
We have consolidated our animals to the “Vet” barn that has just two stalls. There is a one bedroom apartment available for a worker. An employee would be required to work 6 out of 7 days a week, as well as attend to needs that may arise after hours, (IE vet checks, emergencies, etc.).
We have a total of 11 horses on the farm, including 2 stallions and 4 broodmares that are due this year. We are expecting one foal a month starting in March. We have about 35 acres in pasture that needs to be irrigated from March-Sept. We have been bailing our own hay and plan to do that again this year. Our staff include farm manager Mr. Sandoval, who has been on the horse show circuit for close to 40 years. He also has a CDL and is our driver.
We are looking for someone that loves horses and wants to work with them and is not afraid to work. There is a great deal of work to be done and we need a self motivated person to get it done. Currently the employee that we have works alone on Sundays and Mr. Sandoval covers Saturdays.
There are another 20 horses that we own scattered across the US and Germany competing in the jumper and dressage rings. If this is a position that you might be interested in having please let me know.
