Farm Hand in Christiana, TN

This full-time position will care for the pigs, sheep, goats, chickens, turkeys, horses, and cows living at The Gentle Barn, a farmed animal sanctuary.

This highly sought after and meaningful position is waiting for the perfect candidate who loves working with animals along with a small team of other like-minded people.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Ensure animals are properly fed, provided fresh water and a clean living environment (fresh hay, straw, shavings, and mucking out stalls)

• Prepare and provide fresh, organic produce for the animals daily

• Maintain cleanliness throughout the entire facility through dusting, pressure washing and wiping down of equipment on regular basis

• Utilize the gator to pick up and clean poop throughout the animals pastures and paddocks

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must possess a high school diploma or equivalent (GED)

• Gentle and kind person who cares deeply for animals

• Must be highly trainable and eager to learn

• Must have horse and large animal experience.

• Must be available to work varying hours based on the needs of the business including weekends

• Must be punctual and ready to work at established time

HOURS 7:00 a.m – 5:00 p.m. 5 days/week

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $14.00 – $16.00 per hour
