Mercer Island Funny Farm is not your normal neighborhood farm. We are a unique equestrian and event farm located on the south end of the Mercer Island. Our property of 5 acres includes horses, chickens, bunnies, event spaces and a turkey!
The Funny Farm is a place to disconnect to reconnect, providing our community and clients with an urban farm like experience while being just minutes from Seattle and Bellevue.
We are seeking a Farmhand to add to our team. This position will be responsible for assisting the Lead Farmhand in daily duties and projects, as they pertain to animal and property upkeep. Reliability, excellent communication skills, and self-motivation are all characteristics we are looking for in an ideal candidate. We also understand that this position plays a vital role in the farms eco-system, and we value the role as such.
Requirements:
+ Must be 21 years or older
+ Available to work weekends
+ Previous experience working with animals
+ Reliable
+ Horse experience preferred
+ Ability to use hand tools and small power equipment (pressure washer, leaf blower, etc.)
+ Ability to lift at least 50lbs (hay bales, poop buckets, rocks and debris cleanup)
+ Self-motivated and takes initiative in duties and projects in an independent fashion
+ Enjoys Manual Labor
+ Customer Service Skills for clients, vendors and guests
+ Great attention to detail
+ Works well with others and enjoys the team/family atmosphere
+ Great Communicator
+ Excellent Manageability
+ Must have a Drivers License

We offer a very competitive hourly wage in additional the ability to earn extra income through the farm experiences we provide.
