Homegrown Shrimp USA is a newly established shrimp facility located in Indiantown Florida that cultures post larvae, market seafood, and broodstock with an emphasis in sustainable aquaculture. As a startup company, we are looking for a self-motivated Maintenance Laborer to ensure that day to day maintenance operations run seamlessly.
The purpose of this job description is to report the functions, requirements, working conditions, and supervisory responsibility for the Maintenance/Laborer position at Homegrown Shrimp USA, LLC.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The basic function is preventive & equipment repair maintenance.
- Performs preventive maintenance on production, facility, and all farm equipment .
- Performs repairs on electrical, electronic, hydraulics, pumps, on all associated production, facility, and farm equipment.
- Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency.
- Confers with manager to coordinate preventive maintenance, equipment setup, process changes, and emergency production, facility, and farm equipment needs.
- Create requisitions for tools, equipment, and supplies.
OTHER FUNCTIONS
- Reviews work for accuracy and completeness.
- Contributes to Department functions – meetings, goals, training, etc.

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Completion of a 2 year Degree or Technical School Program in Electronics, Mechanical, or Electrical Technology, with 2-3 years of equipment maintenance experience in a manufacturing or farm Industry.
- 5-7 years equivalent experience in lieu of formal Degree or Technical School program.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as schematics, operating instructions, and maintenance manuals.
- Ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
- Strong organizational skills with significant detail orientation and accuracy; ability to work with minimal supervision, self-motivated, and with the ability to work multiple projects.
- Ability to perform basic service tasks on vehicles and farm machinery.
- Familiar with 120, 208, 240, 460 VAC single and three phase.
- Machine shop and welding experiences a plus.
Physical Requirements
The employee will be required sit, stand, crouch in confined areas and must be able to lift 50 lbs.
Travel Requirements
Some travel may be required for training and/or other purposes.
Working conditions
- The employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts.
- Fumes and/or low level (nuisance) odors may be present.
- The work environment is normally outside in the elements.
- The noise level is usually moderate.
- Low and High voltages are adjacent to certain work areas.
supervisory responsibilities
- This position has no direct reports.
- This position reports to the Maintenance Manager.
Training
- Employee Orientation, Safety, Environmental, and Quality related on the job training will be provided.
Flexibility to working schedules may be required due to changing business demands.
