Job Description

Meadow Ridge Ranch, LLC is looking to hire a Farm Manager to run the day to day operations of its working black angus cattle and hay operations.

This job is a working manager and the ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, strong management skills, the ability to work in the operations on a day to day basis and experience in both cattle operations and hay. Some computer skills is also a plus. The following summarizes the job:

About us

Meadow Ridge Ranch, LLC is an operating black angus cow/calf and feeder operation located in Kenna, WV. We currently run approximately 300 cow/calf pairs and another 400+ feeder cattle and round bale approximately 3,000 round bales of hay per year. We own approximately 2,000 acres and lease another 2,000 acres for hay and pasture. We have modern and up to date equipment and believe on running an efficient and effective cattle operation thats based on production and sound management ideas.

Meadow Ridge Ranch is vertically integrated with its various sister companies in the equipment, feed, mineral, and construction businesses. This integration provides the operation with a wealth of knowledge and assets to be used in the operations.

  • Management and scheduling of employees
  • Managing cattle numbers, vaccination programs and rotational grazing
  • Managing day to day operations including infrastructure projects, cattle decisions, and hay decisions
  • Operating heavy equipment and servicing when needed
  • Performing general labor outdoors and moving heavy loads
  • Tending animals in a safe and humane manner, using best practices
  • Assisting with management of a farm budget including tracking of input and output costs to monitor the farm efficiency
  • Assisting with lime and fertilizer decisions
  • Assisting with bidding agriculture projects related to fence construction, water facilities, bushhogging services, etc.
  • Arranging for logistics for various equipment and cattle movement
  • Long hours during certain times of the year such as hay season

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Detail oriented planning ability
  • Good personnel management skills
  • Solid time management skills and a strong work ethic
  • Valid drivers license
  • In depth knowledge of cattle and hay
  • Effective leadership skills
  • Mechanical and technical aptitude for servicing and quickly repairing complex farm equipment
  • The physical ability to perform demanding farm chores with reasonable accomodations

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in agriculture a plus but not required
  • Previous experience with cattle and hay operations a must


  • Compensation is based upon experience we pay through payroll
