About Woodvale Farms:
Conveniently located 15 minutes from downtown Frederick, MD at the base of the scenic Catoctin Mountains, Woodvale Farms is home to 50 stall and field boarded horses. We are also considered a home away from home to many of our staff and clients. Our beautiful, environmentally-centric 150 acre campus features miles of trails and open fields, oversized and professionally maintained indoor and outdoor arenas, three boarding barns offering full care and Field Boarding, both self and full care . About The Role:
We are looking for a Farm Manager to support all aspects of horse care to provide a best-in-class experience for our horses and boarders.
Responsibilities:
- Manage, train, and motivate a staff of 4-6
- Cover a few barn shifts each week
- Assist with farm tours for prospective boarders
- Daily dragging of Indoor and Outdoor arenas
- Manage onboarding of new horses
- Plan and manage all aspects of on-farm clinics and shows
- Ensure compliance with all safety protocols
- Help ensure a professional, tidy appearance farm-wide
- Support farm’s haying venture during haying season
Qualifications:
- Extensive horse care experience (5+ years)
- 3+ years of managerial or supervisory Farm work experience, preferably in an equestrian facility. Trains, manages and motivates a small staff.
- Strong people-management skills
- Must be exceptionally reliable and dependable
- Ability to build, strengthen and maintain professional working relationships with employees and boarders
- Strong attention to detail and high standards
- Willingness to learn and improve
Physical Requirements:
- Physical demands with a considerable amount of time standing, walking, reaching, bending, and stooping
- Physical demands working outside in all types of weather to include heat, cold, and rainy weather conditions.
- Requires the ability for lifting/lowering, carrying, pushing, or pulling 50lbs+

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $16.00 – $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
