We are Marc Arnusch Farms – a 3rd generation family operation located near Keenesburg, CO, about halfway between Denver and Fort Morgan. The core of our farming operation is centered around cereal grain production, including certified seed barley, seed wheat, and wheat and barley for the thriving Colorado craft brew and distilling industry. Grain corn, corn silage, grain sorghum, and alfalfa round out our production. We’re hiring a Farm Manager to join our team. In this role, you will manage 3,500 acres of irrigated crop land and lead day-to-day operations on the farm. Assist the President in creating cropping plans and carrying out all operations necessary to achieve the production goals set and mutually agreed upon with President.
Conduct all primary purchases of crop inputs, repair items and recommend routine equipment updates.
Create financial budgets, in cooperation with office staff, and have working knowledge of budgetary aspects of the overall operation.
Compile annual crop summary reports which include yields, financials, challenges, successes and identify ways in which the farm and its operation need to evolve in future years. This shall be communicated to the President and Controller and shall be presented at the annual meeting of the business.
Continually implement the use of technology in the operation to become more effective, more efficient and cost conscious in adapting the right kinds of technology.
Lead all farm technicians in executing the day-to-day activities of the farm, including operating planters, drills, combines, sprayers, tillage operations, transportation equipment and other associated activities as required to operate a farm enterprise. Coordinate field activity with office staff for accurate record keeping purposes.
Oversee all aspects of irrigation, including timeliness, effectiveness, managing allocations and ensuring all irrigation systems and equipment are run effectively.
Supervise all aspects of equipment maintenance and operation. Identify equipment that needs to be maintained, modernized or sold and communicate those thoughts to the President. Equipment should be ready to use the next day or problems discovered and reported.

Equipment Operations: Oversee all farm equipment operations are conducted and completed in a safe, timely and accurate manner. Report questions in accomplishing this goal to the President.
Develop relationship with landlords, vendors, customers, and the community critical to farm management.

Farmstead maintenance: Routinely inspect and ensure farmsteads, overall farm appearance and waterway delivery systems are maintained in line with the company’s expectations. Farmyards will be weed free and well-maintained to adhere with the farm’s existing reputation and image.
Maintain a clean working space, clean company vehicle and maintain company-owned homeplace.

Qualifications:
Valid Driver’s License (Commercial Driver’s License preferred).
Fluent English-speaking skills.
No drug use or marijuana use.
No alcohol use on the job.
Broad grain and row crop experience.
Heavy equipment operation experience.
Private pesticide applicators license (required or to be obtained).
Moderately advanced computer and technology skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, or other email equivalent), including cell phone-based equipment monitoring apps.
Familiarity with John Deere Ops Center platform, or comparable like Field View or Trimble.
Upper-level equipment maintenance experience.
Moderate level finance business experience, crop budgeting and budgeting discipline.
Strong working knowledge of modern chemistries, seed, and fertilizers.
Fundamental first aid skills, or willingness to accept training.

Working conditions: Working in office and outdoor conditions. Working heavy equipment and machinery. Outside of regular working hours are required. Must understand the time commitment needs of crop management in the High Plains region, but also balance the work schedules for those associated with the farm operation. Periods of long hours are a part of this operation, especially during times of planting and harvest.Physical requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs. On your feet for extended periods of time.
