POSITION TITLE: Farm Manager – Sustainable Ag
STATUS: Full-time, Salaried
REPORTS TO: CEO
POSITIONS REPORTING TO THIS POSITION: Seasonally, up to 5
LOCATION: Smith Valley – Northern Nevada with convenient access to Lake Tahoe
EXPECTED PAY RANGE: Competitive, commensurate with experience. Performance incentives available.

The Farm Manager – Sustainable Agriculture delivers consistent results in agricultural production and conservation. This role is pivotal leads haying, grazing and specialty crop production within a leading environmental organization.

The ideal candidate:

· Is committed to sustainable agriculture and long-term land health.

· Organizes and delivers complex production schedules and budgets and manages a diverse team.

· Enjoys working hands on and developing and mentoring team members.

Expectations and Core Accountabilities:

· Deliver annual plans to boost haying production, grazing, and native seed production, aligning with sustainability and budget goals.

· Manage the full production cycle efficiently, from seeding to delivery, while also focusing on conservation efforts.

· Coordinate maintenance of infrastructure and manage resources in support of conservation goals, acting as a community asset and leading outreach activities.

Requirements:

· A background in sustainable agriculture, especially in specialty crop production.

· Experience in managing agricultural operations, including planning, budgeting, and team leadership.

· Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a wide range of stakeholders.

· A commitment to conservation and sustainable farming practices.
