Farm Operations Assistant, Grow Operations

About the Role:

The Farm Operations Assistant will work as part of a team launching a second phase indoor farm in Calumet City. The Farm Operations Assistant is an entry-level position which entails all aspects of daily production including packaging, system monitoring, harvesting, sanitation, and documentation. This is a hands-on position and we are seeking candidates with a strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.

What You’ll Do:

  • Harvest, pack, label, and box produce;
  • Support farm operations, including: planting, transplanting, and documentation;
  • Assist with inventory control and cold storage organization;
  • Record and document food safety procedures and production data;
  • Sanitize and clean grow room and equipment; and
  • Monitor growing systems.

What You Have:

  • Previous experience in food production a plus;
  • Ability to continuously document production processes;
  • Capable of performing routine maintenance and sanitization;
  • Ability to work independently and anticipate problems;
  • High level of attention to detail;
  • Previous experience in agriculture related setting preferred;
  • Previous experience complying with food safety protocols; and
  • Prior greenhouse or agriculture related experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $19.50 per hour
