Position Title: Farm Operations Manager
Reports to: Habitat Manager
Classification: Full-time, Exempt
Pay: $70,000-$80,000 annually
A San Joaquin Delta Property Owner seeks an Operations Manager. The property includes approximately 600 acres of a unique Wetlands habitat and 200 acres of wildlife-friendly crops.
This position will be primarily responsible for:
• Organize and manage weekly operations under the direction of the Habitat Manager.
• Responsible for all personnel matters for the Farm team members (3 – 5).
• Plant, cultivate, irrigate, fertilize, chemical application, and harvest crops in a timely/effective manner following good agricultural practices.
• Responsible for reporting all Operations results to the Habitat Manager.
• Strategize monthly plans alongside the Habitat Manager.
• Manage Maintenance/Repair of facility buildings and extensive machinery inventory.
• Purchase materials from outside suppliers, coordinate with PCA for chemical applications/deliveries.
Candidate Requirements:
• Bilingual-English/Spanish.
• Preferably a candidate who plans to reside in San Joaquin County.
• Must have work authorization to work in the United States.
• Must pass a pre-employment background and drug screening for employment.
• Must provide a clean DMV record for Company Vehicle.
Candidate Preferences:
• Knowledge of Farm Operations and Farm Machinery.
• Have worked in an outdoor environment.
• Previous experience with a Commercial Farm or Ag Service Company.
Physical Requirements: Some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentage of time committed to physical activity: 33% or more sitting, 33% or less walking, and 33% standing. The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and primarily outdoors. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift up to 50 lbs. is required.
Other Requirements: This is a full-time role requiring a 5 ½ – 6-day work week (40 – 65 hrs./wk. seasonal)
