Assist Production team in manufacturing, Orchard care, Garden care and shipping. Manufacturing includes bottling product, keeping a clean production area, equipment and milling machine. Orchard work includes tree care/pruning, weed control, gardening and mowing
JOB SPECIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of good farming and production policies
- The environment will be hot in the field, cool in the production area.
- Will be standing on your feet for up to 8 hours.
- Assist with the operation and maintenance of drip and sprinkler irrigation systems, including pumps, filtration and chemigation equipment.
- Participate in all phases of tree/vine planting, as well as the pruning of both young and mature orchards. Assist the Orchard Manager with property management and improvement projects such as land drainage systems, all phases of buildings, repairs & maintenance, fencing maintenance, along with landscape maintenance.
- Individual will need to operate field equipment as needed throughout the season and especially during harvest. Equipment includes tractors, various implements, skid steer, pruning towers, sprayers, ATV’s, and ½ ton trucks. Must have a TX driver’s license and clean DMV record.
- The position requires hands-on field work throughout the season. This work includes irrigating /sprinkler repair, pruning, suckering, planting, hand spraying, tree surgery, digging, etc.
BASIC SKILLS:
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Be able to work independently with moderate supervision
- General shop skills are very desirable, along with some knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and gas & diesel engine repair since this person will work on set up, maintenance and repair of farm and processing machinery including tractors, sprayers, mowers, pruning towers and tools, shakers and hulling & drying equipment.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $15.00 – $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
