Job Description
Perform a variety of duties involved in the planning, care, and maintenance of the Biological Park farm grounds, farm animals, and crops; perform a variety of technical tasks relative to assigned areas of responsibility.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Education directly related to the minimum requirements below may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. High school diploma or GED; and Three (3) years animal care or farm maintenance experience in a zoo, garden, farm or other agricultural facility.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver’s License, or the ability to obtain by date of hire.
Possession of a City Operator’s Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire.Possession of, or ability to obtain, a New Mexico Public Applicator License Categories 1A, 1B and 7B within six (6) months from date of hire.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Correctly use and apply a variety of animal handling skills
Clean and maintain assigned animal enclosures according to established guidelines
Work with a variety of domestic animalsIdentify plant diseases and recommend treatment and care
Install, maintain and repair irrigation systems
Operate a variety of equipment and power tools in a safe and effective manner
Perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
