Plenty! Farm and Food Bank is looking for a Farmer to join our team. The Farmer will perform a variety of farm work tasks including planning, seeding, cultivating, and harvesting for year round production. Harvests range between 20-200lbs per week with the seasons. Includes intensive High Tunnel cultivation as well as field cultivation via tractor.

Some mowing, cutting and pruning of farm perrenials, light equipment operation, and other general farm labor duties. This position requires a self-starter with strong work ethic and the ability to work independently or in a group with volunteers. This is a 20 hour per week position with a flexible work schedule.

Responsibilities

• Planning, Seeding, Cultivating and Harvesting crops to supply food bank programs.
• Operate tractor, lawn mowers, leaf blowers, string trimmers, and other farm equipment.
• Operate and maintain Gravity Feed Irrigation System (can train).
• Occassional offsite gleaning projects.
• Supervise volunteer workers with occassional weekend volunteer workdays.
• Assist with community meals or annual events (occassional)
• Other general farm labor duties.

Skills and Qualifications

• Commercial Farm experience/training
• Ability to work outside in all seasons.
• Ability to lift 40 lbs repeatedly throughout the day.
• Ability to operate machinery safely and effectively.
• Strong communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $14.00 – $15.00 per hour
