We are looking for an assistant barn manager/apprentice to work at our horse boarding ranch. We house and care for 60+ horses with over 40 clients. We are looking for a responsible, reliable person with a strong knowledge of animal care and ranch duties who is also good with people. Responsibilities:
– Participate in all aspects of ranch operations, including animal care, land management, and equipment maintenance.
– Develop and implement ranch policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective operations.
– Coordinate with veterinarians and other professionals to ensure the health and well-being of animals.
– Maintain accurate records of animal inventory and health records.
– Monitor and maintain ranch infrastructure, including buildings, fences, and equipment.
– Plan and execute seasonal tasks such as planting, harvesting, and irrigation.
– Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment.
– Work with clients/boarders to execute their specific horse wellness programs.
– Maintenance and improvements of stalls, barns, arenas and work areas.
Experience/Skills:
– Previous ranch experience is required.
– Strong knowledge of animal care practices. Ability to safely handle various types of livestock.
– Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as tractors, loaders, and trucks.
– Familiarity with power tools for maintenance and repair tasks. – Mechanical knowledge for troubleshooting equipment issues.
– Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical labor as required.
– Experience in managing gardens or crops for personal or commercial use.

Pay: $500.00 – $750.00 per week
