Horse Farm Laborer in Lexington, KY 40510

JOB DESCRIPTION: We are in search of someone with at least two years of local experience with mares and foals. Experience with lay-ups is also helpful, but not required. The position also entails working in the horse stables to make sure they maintain cleanliness and organization.
Hours: Six days a week, weekends required, 7:00-4:00 (1 hour for lunch)
**Ideal candidates will not have any other horse industry obligations such as sales, other farm jobs, etc.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Clean and muck out horse stalls.
· Make sure the water buckets and filled and cleaned.
· Groom and brush horses.
· Turning out horses and bringing them in.
· Clean barn and equipment.
· Maintain fences.
· Other tasks as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
· Be able to work outside regardless of weather conditions.
· Must be friendly with animals and able to work with them.
· Must be able to walk, stand, climb stairs, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, reach and climb a ladder.
· Work without direct supervision, work alone or with a team.
· Dont be afraid to get your hands dirty.
· Must be able to lift, push, and pull heavy weight.
