Logistics Coordinator- Crop Protection

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

As the Logistics Coordinator for Bayer Crop Protection, you will support the Luling, LA Plant Operations team by managing the inbound and outbound shipments of raw materials, packaging materials and finished goods products. You will be responsible for transactional requirements for SAP, MES (production reporting system), raw material receipts, sorting and filing of shipment documentation, assisting with billing and reconciliation activities, inventory management, warehouse and production loader oversight. This position will also serve as a backup for various department function leads and will dotted line report to a specific production group leader and scheduler.

This role will be a hybrid based out of Luling, with the current expectation of 2-3 days per week at the plant (currently core in office days are Monday and Thursday) and the remainder from your home office. In this position, you will report to the Head of Local Supply Management.

The primary responsibilities of this role, Logistics Coordinator , are to:

Ensure all shipment forecasts are scheduled in the system, communicated and executed to meet production needs and customer demand; Work with Production Scheduler to ensure all raw materials and packaging components are available to meet production plans;
Track and trace open vendor orders, which are received via different modes of transportations: barges, trucks, containers, and railcars;
Assist with purchase requisition creation for miscellaneous materials and services;
Troubleshoot shipment receipt and loading activities in different systems, which require timely communication with internal and external resources, including freight forwarders, export and import analysts, trucking companies, production loader personnel and off site warehouses;
Provide direction to production loader and warehouse personnel for loading and unloading activities in SAP and MES; Maintain required records for outbound loads; unloads and in-transit records of raw materials, upkeep of Certificate of Analysis(COA), Bill of Lading (BOL) as required by Department of Transportation(DOT), area standards, Bayer policies and ICS Controls; Support Production Schedulers, Purchasing and Accounts Payables with vendor billing and receiving issues;
Monthly accounting reporting for various transactions, including raw material inventory and reconciliation for consumption, as needed;
Execute physical inventory count and reconciliation along with site Supply Chain personnel, internal and external auditors as advised by Bayer policies and ICS Controls;
Track and Update “Right First Time” metrics supporting production rework;
Work with colleagues in the various departments at the site including, internal and external auditors, brokerage staff, agency representatives, global supply planners, material category managers, and the North America export team.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma or GED;
Experience in materials management, logistics, quality management, or production planning;
Ability to balance multiple assignments and priorities;
Ability to work in a manufacturing environment, which includes wearing PPEs, visiting the Manufacturing areas and follow all the Safety Procedures and Guidelines;
SAP/MES (or other similar production reporting system) experience;
User level computer proficiency in Windows based programs (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMs & SharePoint etc.).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Associates or Bachelor’s degree;
3+ years of experience in materials management, logistics, quality management, or production planning.
