Harvesting operation seeks self-motivated, hardworking EXPERIENCED individuals with a willingness to learn and be a team player. These individuals will be responsible for machine maintenance, leading crews during harvest and working hand in hand with management to achieve set goals. Long hours are required during the harvest season.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Repair and maintain pea combines and harvest equipment during harvest, Rebuild and repair pea combines and harvest equipment during off season, Inspect machines, engines, transmissions, etc., and run diagnostic tests to discover functionality issues, Conduct adjustments to machines in the field aiming for maximum reliability and production. Troubleshoot reported problems and resolve them in a timely manner, Perform thorough maintenance on machinery components, Replenish fluids and components of engines and machinery, Provide consultation on correct maintenance and preventative measures to machine or vehicle users, Undertake other duties as assigned, Keep logs of work and report on issues, Train new operators on proper procedures in the field.
REQUIREMENTS:
Proven experience as Mechanic with knowledge of machinery and hydraulic, electrical and other systems and their components. Diesel experience a plus. Aptitude in using various hand tools. Ability to follow established procedures and practices and read instruction. A strong commitment to all health and safety guidelines, policies, and procedures. Must adequately speak, read, and write the English language. Must possess a valid driver license, CDL a plus. High school diploma or equivalent. Mechanical certifications are a plus but not absolute. Physical ability to lift up to 50lbs., pull, stand for long periods at times, climb equipment when needed, walk in muddy/wet conditions, be in the sun for extended periods of time.
Compensation DOQ $18.00 – $22.00
