Krenzer Farms is a family-owned grain enterprise consisting of approximately 3000 acres of corn, soybeans and wheat.

We are looking for a full-time (FT), year-round mechanic to perform mechanical and operational duties associated with crop production and municipal snowplowing.

We have a spacious, heated shop for machinery maintenance and repairs. In the winter months, we contract with the City of Rochester to plow sidewalks with antique tractors.

This position is for you if you’re someone who enjoys a wide variety of job tasks including but not limited to; diagnosing a mechanical failure, procuring the necessary part(s), making the repair, operating equipment in the field, plowing a city sidewalk, performing routine machinery maintenance, improving your skills, increasing your knowledge, and adding to your experience base.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair, maintain and operate farm equipment
  • Repair, maintain and operate snowplow equipment
  • Problem solve to improve all aspects of the farm operation
  • Record equipment repairs
  • Maintain a clean, organized, safe work environment at all times

Requirements:

  • Clean Driver’s License
  • Two-year college degree
  • Mechanical &/or Agricultural coursework
  • 4 Yrs FT prior work experience
  • Minimum 2 Yrs FT grain farm work experience
  • Minimum Mechanical skills necessary to maintain, and repair farm equipment.
  • Basic Welding skills
  • Ability to operate all types of manual clutch machinery
  • Proficient in arithmetic; including fractions Computer literacy
  • Available on weekends

Hours:

Winter: Monday – Friday 7:00 am – 5:00 pm and on call for snowplowing 24/7. During planting and harvest seasons, hours will be extended beyond 5PM and weekends.

Physical Requirements:

Climbing and working on ladders up to 120′ Ability to carry up to 60 pounds.

Helpful skills/accomplishments:

  • CDL A or B Certified Pesticide
  • Applicator Agronomic Knowledge
  • Precision Ag Experience Knowledge & Experience with high/low voltage electricity
