The Precision Agriculture Specialist will provide Extension programming, services, and demonstrations focused on Agricultural Technology throughout the state. Provides programming support and leadership for ag. tech. community outreach and events. Other duties as assigned.
JOB DUTIES:
50% – Essential – Statewide Extension Training:
Deliver statewide programming to farmers, other agricultural industry professionals, and various Extension program teams involving agricultural technology demonstration, training, and education. Assist and plan agricultural technology focused field days or events, working with outside organizations for sponsorship opportunities and collecting farmer and industry feedback on needs and best methods for agricultural technology deployment and education.
20% – Essential – Work with Education Coordinator:
Develop and deliver in-person and on-line workshops and curricula for CU-CAT training modules. Work with university, industry, government, or other organizations to develop certificate and other training programs in agricultural technologies.Also assists with execution of on-campus CU-CAT and EATS events, creative inquiry, and capstone projects.
10% – Essential – Extension Outreach and Communication:
Prepares written quarterly summaries to CU-CAT team for external dissemination providing information about new opportunities and advancements in and relating to agricultural technology. Provide adequate, timely, useful, and research-based information to agents, regulatory staff, and clientele by means of mass media, newsletters, direct mail, telephone, electronic means, and clientele groups.
10% – Essential – Continuing Education and Industry Networking:
Represents CU-CAT at local, state, and national events which highlight agricultural technologies. Maintains working relationship and regular communication with in-state providers and implementers of agricultural technologies. Build and maintain strong alliances with state and regional agriculture technology organizations and stakeholders.
10% – Essential – Other:
Performs other duties as assigned by the Center Director focused on deployment and promotion of agricultural technology.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
Education – Master’s Degree
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:
Experience – 5 years of relevant experience

WORK SCHEDULE:
Standard Hrs: 37.5; Anticipated Hiring Range ($57,600.00 – $65,000.00)
ESSENTIAL PERSONNEL LEVEL
Normal Operations – Required to follow emergency facility closure directives, and not normally expected work on-site during emergency situations.
