Salary: $50,000–$65,000 per year (based on experience)
Schedule: 40–50 hours per week, with alternating weekends off when possible (subject to seasonal demands)

Varner Valley Farms has been family-owned since 1815. We operate on 1500 acres located near Nashport, Ohio, located 50 miles east of downtown Columbus. The Land is situated in a transition zone from glaciated to non-glaciated terrain, the land features rolling hills mixed with river bottoms and wide valleys. Our enterprises include corn, soybeans, wheat, hay, and cattle on pasture. Our cattle enterprise includes a small cow-calf herd, stocker cattle and finishing cattle. We are continuously expanding our cattle operation while maintaining our crop base.
About the Role:
Varner Valley Farms is seeking a motivated and experienced Farm Production Foreman to join our team. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in both livestock and crop production who is ready to take on a leadership role. This position is more suited for someone strong in livestock management with a smaller portion spent on farming and equipment. Overall job is described as 25% farming, 50% livestock, and 25% farm maintenance and upkeep. We’re looking to build a lasting relationship with someone who’s excited to grow and make an impact with us over the long haul.
Responsibilities include:
Livestock:
Daily feeding, record keeping, and care of cattle
Maintenance of fences, barns, and working facilities
Pasture management
Crop Production:
Operation of machinery for spraying, planting, and harvesting
Support with grain and hay production
Infrastructure Maintenance:
Seasonal property upkeep, including mowing and trimming
Fence, water and working pens maintenance
Light mechanical and infrastructure maintenance as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in farming or ranching
Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
Strong communication skills to work as part of a team
Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with farm equipment
Willingness to work flexible hours during peak seasons
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Valid Driver’s License
