Job Description

Opal Foods is currently accepting applications for the position of Production Manager for our Hampton Farm in Hampton, IA. This position is responsible for management of flock care and egg production operations at Hampton and Iowa Falls, Iowa. This position will provide direction and supervision to production team members in order to achieve quality, safety and operational goals. This position is responsible for day-to-day operations and overall production results for IA farms.
Salary up to $100,000 per year.
Position Responsibilities:

Lead site production operations in obtaining operational goals
Monitor and coach production team members in order to make them successful in their assigned tasks
Oversee and provide guidance on production maintenance activities at assigned location(s)
Responsible for time card review and team member performance management for assigned location(s)
Implement and monitor safety program initiatives for assigned location(s)
Implement and monitor bio-security program initiatives for assigned location(s)
Implement and monitor regulatory compliance initiatives related to assigned location(s)
Implement and monitor quality programs
Constantly look for opportunities to make processes more efficient and in alignment with overall organizational goals
Collect and review data with Sr./Area Production Manager to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Manage and maintain all farm ordering, supplies, PO’s, and PO requests
Dependent upon location Manager may be responsible for overseeing the upkeep/monitoring of company wells, and chlorinators
Other duties and projects as needed to support operational objectives

Requirements: (knowledge, experience, skills, education)

5 plus years’ progressive experience in egg production, live poultry or related fields.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write in English.
Demonstrated ability to effectively manage team members including strong communication skills.
Must have mechanical understanding with ability to troubleshoot basic mechanics and ability to guide production maintenance technicians.
Must be a hands-on and interactive manager willing to teach/train team members.

Preferred Qualifications:

High School Diploma or equivalent highly preferred
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, business, relevant course of studies.
Demonstrated ability to effectively speak, read, and write in Spanish.
