We are a family-owned angus ranch in Jones County South Dakota and are seeking an honest, hard-working hand who is self-disciplined, has a good attitude about the job and the hard work it entails.
The ranch is located along the White River in the southeast corner of Jones County 20 miles southeast of the small town of Draper SD. We run a few hundred calving cows and heifers that start calving in April. Most of our ground is pasture but we do plant crop consisting of corn and sorghum as well as various food plots. We do our cattle herding from 4-wheelers and side-by-sides, not on horseback! We’ll supply your housing, all utilities (except phone, internet and satellite TV); We also supply your beef, and are willing to visit about the option to run a small number of cattle of your own. Salary will depend upon experience. You’ll need basic knowledge of cattle, as well as use of farming & haying equipment, fencing and other basic hand tools. Knowing how to mechanic and/or weld is a plus.
