Part Time Ranch Manager / Caretaker in Chacon, NM

Candidate should be able to maintain and operate road maintenance equipment. Make small repairs to existing houses such as carpentry, plumbing, masonry, etc. Operate weed spraying equipment. Bale up small acreage in square bales. Take care of houses with regards to cleaning, laundry and general maintenance.

High Alpine non-commercial recreational ranch is seeking caretaker COUPLE. Ranch duties include maintaining roads, seasonal snow removal, firewood gathering and processing, hay baling, and other normal duties include the upkeep on five houses. Headquarters duties include laundry, general housekeeping and helping with snow removal on all porches, walkways and parking lots.

Housing, vehicles, fully paid health insurance and most utilities to be furnished. Experience in working with heavy road working machinery a must. Ranch is located mostly above 8,000 feet about 15 miles South of Angel Fire, NM. The ranch has a large herd of mostly resident Elk and some deer. Couple may be asked to assist seasonal hunters with guiding or game retrieval. Couple will also be allowed to harvest one Cow Elk per year.

Other skills helpful are welding, light carpentry and masonry, plumbing, painting and general all around know how of housing upkeep. In addition to the main house there are four guest houses plus caretakers house to look after. Couple will be required to take and pass NM Agricultural Applicators License to administer substances to control noxious invasive plants. Owners will pay all expenses incurred associated with this licensing.
